St. Louis Transit Security Meeting
St. Louis Transit Security Meeting
Transit safety and security has been a challenge for the St. Louis region for the last several years. Many residents in North County who rely on public transit for access not only to jobs, but healthcare, education and goods and services may have seen challenges to their rides.
Changes are underway, and we wanted to let you know what is being done to address and begin to overcome these challenges. We want you to be aware of how we are working with the transit agency and community groups on how to improve the ride for all users including increased security, community engagement, focus on mental health and building relationships with partners.
Join Citizens for Modern Transit, Metro Transit, East-West Gateway and the University of Missouri St. Louis and other stakeholders for a very important update on October 13 on where St. Louis is with regards to the St. Louis Transit Security Plan and efforts moving forward.
Speakers will include:
· Jim Wild, Executive Director of East-West Gateway Council of Governments
· Kevin Scott, General Manager of Field Security at Metro Transit

There is no single answer to the safety and security issues impacting the St. Louis transit system. Ensuring all stakeholders are aware of what is being done, and how they can help if we all work together as a united front to alleviate some of the public misconceptions while improving safety. The key to the success and longevity of our transit system depends on all of us, even if we don’t all use it.
Thank you and we hope to see you on October 13.
