St. Louis County Department of Public Health COVID-19 Update
Child Care Relief Program
This morning County Executive Sam Page announced $24 million in funding for the humanitarian response program that will focus on three main areas: senior and home bound programming, housing stabilization and social and emotional wellness. Cora Faith Walker, Director of Policy, also joined Page at the briefing to announce a child care relief program, expanding on the funding details in relation to CARES Act distribution.
The St. Louis County Department of Public Health has another mask distribution set for Friday, June 5, at the John C. Murphy Health Center. DPH is pleased to partner with Catholic Charities of St Louis (CCSTL) in distributing this amazing shipment of 3-ply disposable masks. CCSTL is a federation of eight agencies in addition to a central office and a language translation team. Six of its eight agencies have in-residence programs supporting at-risk communities, benefiting over 100,000 people annually in the STL region.
Dignified Transfer Center
The Dignified Transfer Center is currently accommodating 2 decedents. 54 additional individuals have been through the center and transported to a crematorium or funeral home, at the request of family. To date, 56 individuals have entered the Dignified Transfer Center.
