City of Jennings Housing Auctions
The purpose of this program is to enable residents to quickly and easily acquire unused City properties. Through the program, eligible residents can obtain vacant homes. The goal is to aid in returning our neighborhoods to a more welcoming and aesthetically pleasing area. These properties are sold with the intention of new owners making the repairs necessary for gaining an occupancy permit.
New owners must register the property with the City to be in compliance with Ordinance PM 400.4, which mandates registration of vacant properties. There is a semiannual $200 registration fee along with a one-time $45 inspection fee.
Over the past five years, we've sold over 220 homes through both the auction and extraneous sale of assets.
