NEW MISSOURI LAWS TAKE EFFECT TODAY
Aug. 28, 2017, is the date when most legislation passed by the Missouri General Assembly and signed by Governor Nixon becomes law. Legislation with a specified effective date or with an emergency clause is the only exception to the Aug. 28 date. Find a list of the legislation that passed and the action taken by the Governor here. Legislation that was vetoed by the Governor could stand for an override vote during the General Assembly’s Sept. 13 veto session.
