The City of Jennings will recruit, hire, train and promote all persons without regard to race, creed, color, age, sex, religion, national origin, ancestry or disability. Hiring will be done on the basis of qualifications only.
Applications are accepted during the time that a job is posted. No resumes are accepted unless accompanied by an official City of Jennings application form. Applicants must use the current form as distributed
during the job posting period.
Applicants will be chosen for interviews based on their qualifications, skills, experience and education as listed on their application. In determining which applicant will be hired, additional information about qualifications, skills, experience and education, as obtained during the interview, will be the determining factor. Also considered will be punctuality, professional appearance and attitude, and results of any reference check. Results of job related tests and background investigations, where applicable, will also be taken into consideration.
Any individual who believes that he or she may have been illegally discriminated against in hiring may file a complaint with the City Clerk. The complaint will be investigated and reviewed by the city’s Equal Opportunity Committee.
